  1. This is perpetuating old and inaccurate stereotypes of introversion. Introversion doesn’t equal shyness or reticence. It refers to the way a person gets their energy–if you get energized by being with people, you’re an extrovert. If you enjoy but get drained being with a group of people, you’re an introvert. Introverts need time alone to recharge. (This is a very basic definition of introversion/extroversion. Good books with more info are Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain and The Introvert Advantage by Marti Olsen Laney.)

    Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder and has nothing to do with introversion.
